Maybe I have both and grabbed the wrong one to try on the front wheel! I doubt it though, I honestly think these are the original flat caps for the late beetle, the diameter didn't seem correct for the hub even if the grease cap wasn't in the way. I'll have a look when I get another chance and the monsoons abate. Thanks for all the information and part numbering.
