Glad I caught this thread. I noticed my gas cap missing from my '86 a couple weeks ago (currently not roadworthy due to falling off exhaust so it's been parked since late December). I mean, who the heck would bother walking up the drive next to my house just to swipe the gas cap? Sadly my next thought was 'another Vanagon owner'. And here I thought ALL Vanagon owners were trustworthy by default. Oh well...I guess every family has it's black sheep. Mark K 1986 GL/2WD/4SPD 1990 Carat/2WD/Auto
