   I really like the 'mud-brown' (a polite way to say what I usually call
it) stock color of my 84.  Why?  'Cause it is really hard to see when you
are parked camping.  It blends with just about any type of backround.   This
is  a very good thing when you are not in a formal pay camping area  (If you
camp KOA or Pay RV or Forest Service/Park Service, by all means, make your
van a standout color to help you find it amongst the other RVs) ..If you are
on BLM or Forest land, on some side road or simply hiding behind a Wal Mart
for a quick nap while traveling...it's very handy to NOT have some other
passing-by would-be camper spy your bright-colored van and come cozy-up
nearby.  If you want to "be found" you can always stick some paper plates to
the trees or tie some ribbons or make a sign up...that will for sure bring
you neighbors (or help your friends find you)..Just take the signs down when
you leave, please.

   Red, white, NIke-type Swooshes...Bright yellow, blue, etc....those colors
just 'draw the eye'.  Next time you are out on the road check it out...I am
currently in the desert SW.  From the top of a mountain pass I can see white
SUVs and small motor homes from at least 15 miles away, against the desert
floor.  Driving past a side road where bright colored RVs or Vans are
camped...it's like..."hey, what wazzat?  There's something down there"...

The Brown van?  Blends into the backround.
