  A 'camo' paint job?  While that would work fine in the country, it stands
out, bigtime,  downtown.  Driving through the city or parked at the local
Mall...camo paint 'draws the attention' and may have  connotations of
"survivalist, Militia  member, hippy dirt-bag, or Sierra Club"...well maybe
not the last..

  The fairly ugly brown VW color from the 80s?...That one just seems to
escape notice, it is unremarkable on the freeway and not very visible in
"the wild"   The best in both environments...but(t) ugly.
