I've been using the one cup funnel rather than the French press just because of the cleaning issue. I have boiled it in the pot (cowboy coffee) when that's all I had, I'll have to try it with the fine ground coffee. I do miss the aroma. When I saw Mark's photo my first thought was that I do the pouring in the sink, I've poured too much water before and the sink is a great place for the that mess.
