For the guy who did not talk the Syncro owner into selling, this one turned up on the Samba and is here in Richmond VA.  Never seen or heard of this van until about 30 minutes ago.  Good luck!   http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1099014

1987 Syncro Vanagon bought off of original owner 4yrs ago. Original owner has had engine and clutch replaced. Van runs but needs work and has not been on the road for about 8 yrs. No major rust or impact damage but front clip has rock chip marks. Needs tires, factory ac still installed , fuel injection removed and replaced with carb (fuel injection wiring is still installed but taped back) and interior is original. I need to sell this van to pay off medical bills. Would like $3200 but I am willing to discuss reasonable offers.   NOT MINE! Stephen
