hi roger .. moot point now .. the way I read that is .........he lives in So Cal .. and he's several hundred miles from So Ca.

which ... it probably didn't occur to the poster that a member could be 5 miles away .. and very able to help ...and supplying the 'where' would be very useful info.

but there is some 'very odd' thing about this location thing. Maybe it's because I have a touch of asberger's syndrome .. WHERE something is is totally, totally fundamental.

you know what they say in real estate ..location, location, location.

And I don't think a lot of people can thing to well in terms of possibilities .. my mind would be going .. there might be some very helpful member of this great family nearby .. if I say where I am .. who knows what might happen ! .... heck ..some guy could be right near by with all kinds of spare parts, just eager as could be to help .. but .. I don't think people think in terms of 'imnaginnative possibilites' terms very much . I'm trained in that ..but it's just natural to do to me. I have seen countless times where people do what I call 'block their own process' ...

and people are so dumb that cell phones have GPS capability when calling 911 ...because many people can't even discribe where they are.

so if one is broken down and asking for help .. being very clear about WHERE is only natural and smart. and 'severl hundred miles from So Cal' is sure not much in the way of info. He could be a hundred miles from my shop and fit that discription.

people don't think very much, really. If I post my 'how to drive on freeways in California' on friday .. you'll hear my opinion about how totally uncosnicous and unaware a typical Ca driver on freeways is. Why do you think there are so many accidents on the US's highways ..? it's becuse people are dumb, generally. Sad to say. I will also say 'ALL' .....all vehcilelar accidents are preventable .. at some point ....whether in the intellegent design of the car or vanagon .. or driving too fast for the condtions.. lack of experience in training in driving ...or whatever.. The only car accident I can think of that is not Preventable somewhere in the entire process of raods, cars and driving is ... a meteor falling out of the sky and hitting a car .. and that's just odds and blind luck.. all the rest of the accidents are very preventable .

ok...here's to intellegent humans ! S. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roger Whittaker" <rogerwhitt1@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sunday, February 20, 2011 12:24 PM Subject: Re: On the road and need some help
