I certainly agree. This alcohol fuel at the same price as original straight gas is a rip off. Plus corn subsidy is a rip and then as well as alcohol for fuel we are being pumped to accept HFCS as Corn Sugar as "it's just sugar" crap. This latter stuff has been over marketed and saturated our food supply, driving such an obesity epidemic that it now threatens national security. 70% of kids of Military age are to unfit to serve. When I am where I can get alcohol free fuel, I get it, even though I pay more. Same thing for my Toyota Prius (the book doesn't say avoid the alcohol fuel, but I get better gas mileage, which to me means the engine is running better). Besides, I don't like to pay folks to commit environmental sin, which growing corn for fuel is. Sinful in other ways, too, like driving up food costs. mcneely > > ---- Anthony Egeln<regnsuzanne@YAHOO.COM> wrote: >> Here's a quote I pulled from an e-newletter I get on alternate fuels: >> "The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has given the green light for E15 ethanol to be used in vehicle years 2001-2007" >> Will our wasserboxers run on E15 if that becomes the fuel provided by most retailers? Seems like we're headed in that direction. Besides the obvious loss of fuel economy (my syncro dropped from 18 to 16-17 when they went to all E10), what would be other consequences? >> Anthony'89 Syncro GL (Hidalgo) > > > > -- > David McNeely > > |
