Time lapse is very easy to do with a webcam. Plenty of software out on
the interwebs to do it with.
Back in 2006 I shot a time lapse movie of my trip home from EveryBus
using a webcam mounted on the dash of my van. With one frame captured
every 4 seconds I wound up with a 60x speed increase.

(The best footage is around 2:30 or so. The clouds are also really
interesting at around 3:55)
If you have a spare laptop with a webcam available it'd be easy to do.
