Still trying to chase down a vacuum leak. After getting a new gasket(s, actually) from FLAPS, removed the first of the intake assemblies, left side. Probably didn't need the new gasket - those things look tough, although the former space suit technician in me wonders how a block of rubber like that with hard faces can seal at all. Wheedled the entire intake/injector assembly out to where I can see it. The edge of the seal where the injector goes into the intake manifold looks cracked. Could this also be a vacuum leak? Probably a good idea to replace the seals while I'm this deep (and likely to go deeper). How? Bentley says " - remove injectors in pairs..." and that's it. Will I need the large and small seals? Anyone got part numbers, so I can ask my FLAPS? I'm on the digest version of the list, so a cc'ed reply to me would be appreciated. -- bcnu - Grungy (Houston, TX) opinions are just that.obviously. 60 dddPanel 69 Bug 89 Carat 04 Jetta TDI 05 Jetta Wagon TDI g r u n g y AT g r u n g y DOT c o m |
