The issue on the left coast will be any V shaped coast line or bay that will concentrate the height of the wave. These features can easily turn a 4' Tsunami into a localized 20' Tsunami!

Hi,

precautions have been taken here vancouver island, on the west coast of the island., schools closed etc. Wave expected to hit at 8 - 9 am pacific. But it looks like its ok, nothing much hit. Alberni inlet not checked in yet though

BBC vids of the tsunami hitting Japan (Sendai) is horrifying. Very very sad.
