That 928 wasn't all bad, I must say. When everything worked (happend a few times) it was a spectacular car. But the engineers on that project?...they don't get a 'bye'...They may have been told to do some silly things by "Marketing" but engineers are supposed to be able to calculate expected conditions and produce results. The 928 Guys musta been living in an alternate universe when they designed some of the systems and expected them to work in OUR world..

Once my 928 was converted to a race-only car and over 1000lbs of crap pulled out...60-odd relays removed....it was pretty darn dependable and very much feared by the 911 crowd...who said "That is not a +real+ Porsche"...

Vanagon content: Perhaps those same engineers, after being canned at Porsche, came across to VW and designed the headgaskets for the Vanagon? (ducking) Don Hanson
