Hi, Matt in Idaho just posted that he has a whole AHU tdi engine , ecu, harness .. etc. .. a pretty complete package, for sale. Sounds like it's a pretty decent engine too.

an e-tdi fits at 50 degrees under the engine cover of vanagons just fine. It's only on the conventional pre-chamber type TD engines that have a boost aneroid sticking up on top of the injection pump ...those have a minor engine cover clearance issue. that's for 50 degree installs. So the 1Z and AHU tdi's will go in at 50 degrees just fine.

ALH's and later ..since that's a whole new design block .. with cast aluminum oil pan ..those are very much harder to mount at 50 .. and are often installed more upright ....which means raising the engine cover area some.
