dear wanderer
there is much to see and be seen in this old world and hat which is the most
bestus is that which is happening outside of regularly scheduled programing
maybe you are standing at spirit lake on highway 2 west of calgary and
because of your general warmth which indians feel right away you find your
self lingering on the nearby rez
maybe you travel further west and down toward canal flats and just a few
miles from there you turn right and go up the hill to discover the free hot
springs (and it is not inundated with youthful locals)
and there at the forestry camp ground at the top you camp by the lake for
the night or maybe a few days
maybe you decided to explore the crater of diamonds near murfreesburough
arkansa ...and then caught up in resource fever you begin to map the
location of minerals and fossils ...
dropping by rock creek bc for gold and joggins ns for fossils
and this makes you want to see the tar sands in fort mcmurray and do a
little industrial tourism at the syncrude plant and discovery centre ...
which makes you want to stay long wnough to be able to drive up to fort
chipewyan on the ice road .... the oldest settlement in alberta and there
you spend days standing in the wooden church there looking at the paintings
on the ceilings and because you had to wait til winter to take the ice road
you decide to wait til summer so you can look at the sand dues and dessert
east of lake athabaska ... the history of fort chip is so amazing ... the
larges sea turtle ...ever... caught there in the lake ... how did they do
that ...
if you have the ability to be extreame you could try to drive from kelowna
to naramata .... on the east side of the lake ... maybe you cant do that
anymore since the fire
but oh you will want to so much because the wineries at either ed of this
old rail line are so amazing ...each and every one ... summerhill ...
▼ Elephant
Island Orchard and makes you run up the west side of the lake from winery to
winery into n infinite loop of wineries which you only break by heading
south to oliver and sample more dessert
there is so much in between ther and here which you will drive by and not
even know you passed it
there is so much between here and there that you will sample and part of ...
get in your ride and drive off with out a second thought until one day long
from know when you turn to your traveling companion an say remember that
place where we .... and they will look at you with a face like the rca
tradmark dog ...say no ...and you will search your mind for that taste ...
flavor... smell that you have lodged on your mind ..now settling deep in
your memory
regards
