I always keep a good amount of "survival" stuff in my van including the book
"How to Survive in the Woods" but it's all for minor emergencies.

As Steven posted below, if there was real disaster we aren't going anywhere
in our vans.  When we had a major storm here about 7 years ago and lost
power everywhere for days there was no where to buy gas as all the stations
were closed.  I had to drive 40 minutes away to buy gas for our generator.
I used all my camping gear to live at home, including the outdoor shower
stall, Zodi shower, propane stove, etc.

Soooo, in a disaster, we may need to find ways to survive at home....
