I used a cheaper knock-off copy of a marine socket from Digi Key, I think. I stuck it into the 'grill' in the center top of the dash on my 84. There was a funny little plastic doilley covering a perforated section of the dash...probably used to be for the radio. I cut through the holes with a dremmel and rounded it out with a file to accept the plug. Works well. Don Hanson
