If I could go back in time and drown the guy who invented the
electric cigar lighter I'd do it in a flash, and the world would be a
better place.  It was an excellent cigar lighter but it's no bloody
good for anything else.  But apparently we're stuck with it.  It
wouldn't have been *quite* so bad if the makers of accessory plugs
had made them latch into place the way the actual lighters do, but
then we'd have had to take notice that they aren't actually
standardized.  And now car mfrs are putting in ones that won't even
work for lighters.  Bring back the silver socket!  [/rant mode]
