As mentioned in previous posts, the Cobra 75 is the way to go if you're looking for all the bells and whistles in the microphone (yeah it's a bit weighty: http://www.bills2way.com/Cobra-75-WX-ST.html

I might sound a bit snobbish, but I prefer SSB, so I run a Cobra 146 GTL with funny channels in one Vanagon and a Cobra 148 GTL in another: http://www.bills2way.com/Cobra-148-GTL.html But I'm usually on AM Ch 19 when on the road.

And I carry an AM only Backup, the Cobra 29 NW ST. http://www.bills2way.com/29nwstle.html (This is the Blackface model, I have the older brush aluminum face model). -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing Since March 1999 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Thu, Mar 17, 2011 at 2:45 PM, <becidarob@gmail.com> wrote: > I've been looking for. Probably a reason for that but having the controls in the mic would make the 'where do I put it?' Question a lot easier. > Does anyone have one?
