Just use a screwdriver-small pry bar under the alternator to lift it and jam
the bolt from turning. It got assembled so it should be able to be removed
unless it got rusted in place.

Two other listmembers posted that the earlier style bracket does not have
the square hole and carriage bolt. Now I just have to get a mirror back
there to see what my '84 has.

If I did have the carriage bolt and needed to remove it to replace with a
regular bolt, I was going to take a Dremel and cut off the nut and push the
bolt back through.
