hi Patti, if the switch is working right... you push on the stalk ( push away from you ) one time, and release.

that will get your intermittent rear wiper action. it will continue going and sweep every 7 seconds or whatever it is,

..until you push the stalk again, once........and release. then it might sweep one more time, and then stop.

it should spray washer fluid too....... ..reservoir is at the back of course.
