Hi Jonce, Sounds to me like the brake light circuit has been crossed into the parking light circuit, which connects in turn to the dash lights. Have someone watch the running lights when you brake, I bet they come on as well. first place I would look to resolve this is whatever you did last, followed by the hitch wiring.
