Not sure if the same ID/thread, but as you suggest, the nut has been used on lots of MB's Pic of front bearing clamp nut 1957 Mercedes-Benz Type W121 190 Ponton sedan: http://www.mbzponton.org/images/mb_brakes_190_front7.jpg If the same size is used on that many MY's, maybe find some for a Vanagon in a bone yard?
