So, kind of an extension of my post about hauling the spinet piano...

The local high school is adding on and remodeling - part of that project
requires the destruction of the band room. With my SO and I both being proud
former band geeks at this school (and in college) we have been helping out
when we can. So when the call game to help move the stuff from the current
band room we were there. It was a mess to say the least 60+ years of stuff -
some junk and some not.

When storage started to run short and some were suggestion some important
things be pictched we stepped up. So long story short my Van is currently
FULL of 60+ years of Cros-Lex band history. Trophies, Award Plaques,
banners, Tons of pictures, old recordings, boxes of older music, asorted old
uniforms, banners, percussion equipment, etc. etc. etc.

They will have a new band room by next school year - I figure by then we can
have all this old stuff cleaned up, sorted, and ready to display.

We were disgusted that some would suggest pitching school history like that
- it was nice to have a vehicle I could stuff full of things and get it to
safety! I quite enjoy some of the stuff that has landed in the back of my
bus - makes it that much more interesting and fun.
