I've no idea.  And I was talking about insurance companies, and one
insurance company in particular that happens to do business all over
the world because it caters to the US military.  It does a lot of
business in Germany and writes a lot of policies in Germany - and
Germany does have extremely strict laws about modifying vehicles,
getting mods approved by a referee before you can put them on the
road etc.  Whether he brought up Germany as an example because he
knew I had a Vanagon or because it was a salient example of a much
different way of writing policies or what, I don't know.

And incidentally I checked the list and AKO isn't subscribed, not
even under my name.  You were quoting my message(s) so I took the
