And to further complicate things...There are several types of LSD's..
The original ZF built style with clutch packs internally that always have
about a 40 or 50% going to each wheel, but do wear out and then...These are
generally not available these days.
Then there are the TBD or torque biasing diff style ( Peloquins built) that
have a bunch of little gears inside that mostly try to put power to the
spinning wheel. They CAN spin a wheel if it gets airborne or loses most all
its traction though. They need a bit of traction to both wheels to work
well. You can get them to slip by standing on the gas, but conversely they
can get you waaay further up a snowy hill with easy gentle throttle control.
