I purchased an Adventurewagon in Virginia ..and I'm in Oregon. The first 'quote' ( it's a bid really...most of them are brokers, not the shippers themselves ) .. was $ 1,150 .. that was about 4 years ago ...maybe 3 1/2 yrs ago. since it was extra tall.. it was hard to find someone to take it ... like they'd need a small car to place above it on their car hauler rig. Had to raise the bid twice.. finally after 3 months someone took the job at $ 1,350. it arrived safely. re the fly and drive.. every which way I ran the numbers ..cost to fly there, gas to drive, motels..or even camp in the van .. plus food and meals .. it was far cheaper to pay someone to haul it here. Plus it's not a week of your time. You do often see a rental van towing one of the family's cars .. wife following in the other one. what a big project. I think what I'd do...especially if a camper van .. is store it for a while..... then in early summer ...fly back to it.. and have a nice trip driving and camping it to the new home location.
