Joe, did you make sure that the vent on the top of the transmission is not plugged? If it is then pressure could be building up and making the seal leak and no matter what you do it will continue to do so. The other thing it could be is a bad bearing allowing axle flange to go slightly eccentric. Check the flange for play when messing with the seal again. Just some ideas.
