Subject: Anybody interested in 85 Westy Weekender?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Bought more than I can chew. Had to buy because I said I would before actually seeing the metallic bronze Wolfsburg Edition Westfalia base camper. No galley.

The bad: This Westy got smack hard in the front rightside corner just below the windshield, below the grill and above the bumper. Funky that the grill didn't get smashed. Passenger door won't close because the hinged area got pushed in. Windshield cracked. Poptop works fine but canvas needs replacement. Brown shred-o-roy interior is history. Dash dried out.

The good: Driver's side looks fine as the rest of the van. Runs fine. 137K miles. Don't know if headgaskets are original or not. Does not appear to leak or overheat. Rebuilt 4-speed trans. PO still looking for GW receipts. Weekender interior with larger closet and folding side table. Single rear facing seat.

Selling as-is with delivery within 10 miles of San Francisco -- you pay bridge toll as applicable. Pics available later in the day.

Asking $2K. Will consider selling engine and trans. $500/$375 respectively. You take out. More if we take out.

Please pmail me if you want to save from this project. Will have to sell my 84 Sunroof van project if I have to keep this.
