Subject: How long do gas struts last in storage?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi All,

Wondering how long one should expect gas struts such as those used on rear hatches and hood last in storage? Thinking of buying spares and just keep them stashed away. But most of stuff I read says gas struts will leak a pressure periodically to the point of eventually rendering them useless. Any ideas?

I noticed vendors tend to have clearance sales on gas struts which seems to support the notion.

TIA,

-- BenT
