As I said I put on the Jetta window cranks. I have an 84 Westy. When I installed aftermarket speakers I put on 85+ speaker grilles which come out further than the flush ones on the 84. The 85 grilles cost me $5 at a swap meet somwhere. I then laboriously filed the Jetta window cranks until I had enough clearance to not scratch the speaker grilles (which I had painted brown to match my interior. No spacers needed. I have heard of others who have carefully bent the stock cranks to clears the speakers -- and of others who have spent the money on BusDepot spacers. My solution worked for me -- but the BusDepot spcers aren't that much money.

Cheers, Doug
