What I would do would be to put in about 5 gallons of new gas with an ounce of Dri Gas and some injector cleaner. I would crank it over till I knew some of the new gas and Dri Gas mix got to all the injectors and every other part of the fuel system. I'd let that sit in everything for a day or two to dissolve all the gum deposits...Then I would run it for a bit, maybe till it comes up to temperature. Then I'd re-drain the fuel tank, clean or replace the fuel filters and re-add some fresh gas. I'd expect or watch for fuel issues for a few tanks of fuel....5yrs sitting can make problems with the old gas... I recently re-awoke a Suziki DRZ dirtbike after 5yrs...The tank was so gummed up I had to toss it...The old gas had reduced itself to a red putty that nothing would dissolve... Dri Gas is a pretty amazing gum disolver, though it is not sold as that. |
