if you are just going to check the horn contact ring on a parts van..
as you may already know, to remove the steering wheel, just remove the round
VW symbol in the middle of he horn pad, then remove the nut holding the
steering wheel on ..
the steering wheel comes right off and you can see the contact ring on the
back of the steering wheel. No need to mess with the horn pad ..
only need to remove the horn pad to work on it ( I never have had to ) or
..........to replace the horn contact ring where it's pressed onto the back
of the steering wheel.
