Subject: headlights (all) - poof!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

Driving down a washboard road the other night and had just clicked on my high-beams when all of the headlights went out at once.

All of the fuses in the fuse box are intact. The relay is clicking when I click on the turn signal lever for the high beams.

The green resistor lump behind the left headlight appears to be intact.

Had to get home, so I stripped some insulation off the WE/BK wire on the right headlight and ran some Monster speaker cable out of the window, taped it to the headlight wire and then connected it to the battery. Four headlights on. Very funky instrument panel lighting, but I got home and disconnected it.

Any clue what might have failed? I can start replacing things from my parts van, but I'd prefer not to blow any of those replacements if I choose the wrong part first. --
