Subject: Camping near Charleston SC?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

We'll be attending a seminar in North Charleston in mid-May and were planning to camp and explore the area leading up to the seminar days, but there do not seem to be any places to camp.  One county park is mentioned but nothing more about its camping venue is available.  Roadhaus.com has nothing for the entire state.

The tourist bureau info package has nothing on camping (plenty on golf, however) but a big-bucks-per-night RV park.  I used to work for a SC-based company and have my own ideas about the place going back many years, but wonder if fellow listees could possibly recommend a nice place for a Westy couple to plant themselves for a few days.  We may wind up driving the Civic and plushing it at a motel in town, instead.

Thanks! Stephen
