Clearly I lack in amounts of VW crap. Not sure how badly hauling around a 30 gallon bin will affect gas mileage. ;) My live aboard fastener box should be upgraded. Latch is all but non existent. It has all manner of things including those fancy ovaled Cadmium plated "always replace" 10mm head lock nuts. My smaller fishing bin has latches that are hard to press shut. I keep an eye out for low profile containers of that ilk that would house my hand tools. They would fit nicely in this storage I "created": (all part of the master plan right?) http://sites.google.com/site/tubaneil2/EngineLidFrame.jpg Mark Drillock and I did some junk yarding a while back. Those yards charged the same amount for a given part. Up here, last I checked, prices varied. Like a Vanagon bolt priced higher than a Dodge bolt. I really should take an afternoon and confirm. Build up my Vanagon Tribute Wall o parts. Neil.
