I had a braided stainless steel Aeroquip #4 teflon hose made to
connect under the pushrod tubes and then curl up the #3 cylinder by
the top left bolt that holds the engine to the tranny.  Many places
to mount the sender with a rubber coated clamp.  I've also heard of
folks using a simple grease gun extension hose available anywhere,
assuming it's long enough for your needs.
