While we're on the subject, anyone know just how strong the Westy fiberglass top is? Over the years my wife and daughter have gotten ticked off at me because I have refused their request to sit up on the roof during 4th of July fireworks. Both are rather small, each weighing in at just over 100 lbs. I've told them that ONE of them can sit in the luggage rack section (I've gotten in there myself and I weigh about 190) but not on the back half, I'm just not sure how much weight that part can hold, and I don't want to deal with a cracked top. Of course, this always leads to them complaining "Are you saying we're too fat?" Living with two females, I'm used to just not being able to win. Jeff

Wondering out loud. Has anyone installed a CH poptop on an otherwise stock Westfalia Vanagon?

I like the way the CH top goes straight up but the plastic top itself feels rather flimsy. I wanted to try to use a Westy top with the CH lifting mechanism and tent. Is the tent big enough to cover the Westy hole? What about the upper bunk? Does the CH top go up high enough to allow the stock Westy upper bed to flip open?

I have a CH top and want to use it on a Westy. I do not have the CH bed or platform.

TIA,

BenT
