It is not a simple buzzer but a logic board that attaches to the cluster blue foil in 86+ models. A guy like you could wire one into a van that did not have it but you need to add the reverse logic high rpm second pressure switch and a tach signal. Not all that practical to add on an 84 but very possible. Page 90.22 shows the layout.

The logic board has inputs for the two pressure switches, engine rpm, and of course power and ground. The only outputs are the audible buzzer and a signal to the oil light which blinks when pressure is sensed low.

The logic board ignores the high pressure switch unless rpms are above 2000 or so. It lives inside the speedo case but not for any functional reason other than to put the alarm sound right in your face.
