I guess "Pious" might be a misspelling for Prius, since I know no other vehicle with a name anywhere close to that. I drive one. Am I a good driver? Well, I do all the things that you guys cited that good drivers do. What gives with the Prius driver bashing? I drive a Prius because I am a responsible person, who recognizes that the earth and its resources are finite, and that I, especially if other of the citizenry will cooperate, can make a difference in how fast we wear our support system out. I could go on about how irresponsible drivers drive, what kinds of vehicles and so on. Oh, well.

So far as the air bags, they are not for failing to check warning lights. They are for when something goes wrong, whether beyond the control of the driver or not. I wish my camper had them. I'd feel better about putting my family in it. > > I bet most people never even glance at > the dash till they have their belts fastened

I fasten my seat belt before I do anything else when I get in my vehicle, including starting the vehicle. That is how I taught my daughter when she was a child. Now she is a 37 year old mother who teaches her child the same way. That does not mean that I don't examine the instrument panel of the vehicle I am driving for warning lights and other indicators.

Good grief!!
