I had to use it on my Bug because the wipers were so slow. I found that with fresh RainX it didn't matter if the wipers worked or not. The water beaded up and the visibility was pretty good.

You need to really clean the windshield and use a hair dryer to make sure the windshield is nice and dry and not cold.
