RE: Job Safety Many years ago I worked in a facility where, among other duties, I maintained electronics racks each with a really beefy power supply feeding them. First thing in the morning, coming in the door, watches and rings came off and went into your pocket. One Monday morning the lead tech, ex Navy and a stickler for safety, came in with his left hand all bandaged. When we asked he explained he'd lost his ring finger on that hand over the weekend. He'd been working under his car and his wedding ring got caught between the hot terminal of the starter and ground. By the time he could pull it free it had burned all the way into the bone, the doctors could only amputate it. (Vanagon content there, be careful working around ANY electrical circuit). I grew up in machine shops, especially the on in our basement. My father was a machinist all his life. And very safety conscious. So I got a lot of things, not obvious, drilled into me early in life. And my father was one of the few in his trade during that time that retired with all his fingers and both eyes, only one small scar on his cheek from an exploding parting wheel.
