My take on the synthetic oil debate is that if your engine has the Viton seals at both ends of the crankshaft/ They are brown and the old style ones are black I think. Viton seals handle the synthetic oil a lot better than the old school seals,so if your motor has been rebuilt by a reputable builder or you know for sure you have brown seals in there, I'd say synthetic would do just fine. ONe thing is for sure, you don't want $7/qt oil leaking out of places that area real bear to replace.....
