You really do have to pay attention, an not relax your vigilance for a moment around machinery. This is really multiplied when working on airplanes. Spinning propellers, turbine blades, etc.

A lady AC mechanic was working on an engine on the ramp, and it was running, as is often required when doing maintenance. She momentarily forgot herself and stepped back into that rotating propeller.

Disaster!
