Hi, I haven't gotten to flow the thread yet. It turned out that 'the prius' guy needed a work space to swap batteries between two Prius cars, and he used my place to do that. He drove here in one, someone dropped off the other is how I think it went. in any case, I got to help wrestle a heavy battery about the size and shape of a large suitcase out of the back of the prius's ....the additional battery and whatever else it takes to make it into a plug-in Hybrid, not just a 'drive-to-charge hybrid". another interesting and odd thing learned is there is a conventional 12 volt car size battery in the right rear corner of the car that is just used to run the dash and the 'normal' eectrical stuff ...and if that battery wears out or fails, the car will crank on the starter from it's propulsion batteries but not fire up. Vanagon content ? ..this is so we can start visuaalizing and planning on making plug-in hybrid vanagons that get 45 mpg, or more. ( Prius ain't got no soul though, no spunk/charisma, if you ask me though. But vanagons sure do ! ) Scott www.turbovans.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Beierl" <dbeierl@ATTGLOBAL.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, April 18, 2011 7:17 AM Subject: Re: HHO Kits
