Thanks David.

When torquing nut, I was careful to position rack "loose" in vice so pressure was exerted on at least 2 points (arm and the "tab" on opening where boot goes on)

To peen collar on inner tie rod end nut, I put nut against vice back flat metal and carefully tapped the collar down/over. Thinking now, that may not have been a good idea though I certainly didn't wail on it. (risking deformation of ball socket)

In Bentley I see the image of the rod in soft jaws, but have not found image of tool used to torque inner tie rod end.
