I just replaced my original poptop seals w/ BD's & they seem to work great, very easy to install, no mess w/ glue, very tight fit, no noise, etc. But I'll be darned if I could see how to install the luggage rack trim w/o taking off the rack? That said, I completely agree w/ taking off the rack to clean/remove all the crap that had built up in there over 27 years, it looked like. I did come up w/ several extra existing parts after reinstalling the rack that I don't know where they belong-white foam blocks that were sitting there on the roof- also don't forget to reglue any rubber washers onto the metal brackets that screw the rack onto the roof, BEFORE trying to reinstall the rack!

Also, some sorta screen glued to the bottom of the drainage holes to keep crap out but let water thru could be added?

Once you have done it, it should be easy the next time-aligning the screws w/ the threaded hole in the brackets is the trickiest part, especially if doing it by yourself.

YMMV,

Mr. BZ-now if I can just figure out how to install BD's German mud flaps?
