Subject: Looking to find one Nexen 185r14 somewhere around Asheville NC
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

First, thanks to everyone who offered up suggestions on routes and places to check out... very helpful.

I'm traveling with a questionable spare and would love to replace it. And as I intend to change to a different size tire when these wear out (in another 40K miles or so) I only want to get a better spare. I haven't found them anywhere near home (Toronto) although Scott @ GermanSupply has something comparable however not identical. Anyone know a source down this way? Nearest Discount Tire stores are more than 50 miles away and from what I can tell on the website they don't seem to stock Nexen. We're near Asheville however locations north of here would also be good for our drive back.

As for the trip... We've had some great weather, some serious rides (today was over 5 hours with more than 3 hours climbing! Legs are gonna tell me about that tomorrow), and great scenery. Met a couple of fellow West owners from Ontario here at Davidson River CG, including an '82 x-air cooled that's got a Jetta WC conversion. I've only seen one other Vanagon on the road... a dark blue Westy heading south on 276 (I was on my bike heading down from the Blue Ridge Parkway). I'll save all the other details for a proper trip report when we get back.
