there was a Westy's-onnly mainly car lot there in Santa Rosa for quite a while.

Hoch Motors. yep ..they still exist. here's a page from their 'inventory' list. http://hochmotors.tripod.com/inventory.htm

and ..86 Poptop - what I call a Weekender .. with only 116K miles.. and for only $ 7K ... if that van is clean and tight and fully roadworthy ..and not crash-repaired or rusty .. that is a screamin' good deal in my opinion .

there's the big obsession with the Full Wesy of course.. and those always hold value and are highly desired, but for many .. the poptop with no kitchen stuff, .. makes a super fine vanagon ..they have the most room in them of any stock van, and half the time many folks just car camp out of them anyway, so for some people they are better than a full westy.

Usually these guys have high end pretty nice ones . This is an excellent price if the overall condition is up there.

We have a really different opinion on "really good", <vbg>, no surprise there. I google 'great burger in Santa Rosa" and went to Carman's Burger Bar. A good burger, the meat was a little too 'good' for a really great burger (not juicy enough) but it was good. The onion rings were great & worth a trip back just for them. I'll try someplace else the next time I do this in this area. Did see two more VW's one of them was a westy.
