dear hot n almost melting
i would be pretty sure you can get an after market AC
http://www.swampy.net/auto-air-conditioner.html
take into account what they say about fuel lines and even if they were
changed then they still need to be looked at for quality of workmanhsip
is the fire starter changed out ...
should be a strait through the newly installed rubber grommet in the
firewall ...replacing the double ended male fitting that is made of plastic
....
http://www.benplace.com/fuel_line.htm
also get your self a bently
http://www.bentleypublishers.com/volkswagen/repair-information/vw-vanagon-80-91-factory-repair-manual.html
this will be useful in two ways ... 1. you can do most repairs your self by
following well laid out directions
2. if you dont do the repair your self you can read up on it and understand
what the mechanic is trying to explain he is going to do ...
be safe and be happy
regards
