yup, it's as easy as you describe. That plastic ring helps make the handle feel less loose, and there might be another "bushing" or short rubber sleeve listed in parts diagram too. But the plastic escutcheon is the one part you really need. Put some locktite on the screw too. alistair ps I made my own escutcheon, a tight one.
